Here’s a role: 10–30 minutes in any movie where Jesse Eisenberg (the actor) tries to convince the audience he is playing a character who is not the same as Jesse Eisenberg (the actor).
Or a film in which Allen (the writer/director) writes about about a director who only makes hack movies and who is desperately trying to convince the audience he’s not a creepy old man [who would marry his step daughter] in love with a much younger lady while casting himself [Allen] or a surrogate as a creepy old man [who would marry his step daughter] in love with a much younger lady, starring some attractive leading lady much younger than he is.
In order to keep making movies about himself having sex with much younger ladies [and who would definitely not marry his teenaged step daughter], he writes his character as though he were a serious artist, an auteur, not the poseur he is.
