Oh, and that unchecked creative control can create masterpieces as well as travesties [the Prequels]. It’s called the auteur theory. Look it up. It can be applied to producers as well as directors, and it has been — for almost a century — mostly to men.

This isn’t the fault of liberalism. Trump couldn’t have saved the movie. If anything, blame Disney for needing a palatable product which can sell well domestically and internationally.

They succeeded in part due to a perspective which involves more than just while males with British accents.

The audiences want the parts of the films you are suspicious of: anti-heroes, strong females and people of color, questionable decisions, and, yes, fallible white dudes.

I want that, too, just from another team than Kennedy and Rian Johnson.
