1. The “infinite monkeys” idea originated prior to (but was first recorded by) Aristotle. Don’t credit Taleb with it. He’s smart, alright, but he didn’t come up with that.
  2. Merit is not replaced by luck so much, unless luck of birth. We’re you lucky enough to be born white in America? How about just white? If you’re white, were you born to well-connected parents accustomed to success or to first generation succeeders who were still making mistakes? Were you born with dark skin to folks who never even had a chance at success?

Any article discussing success needs to credit skin color and nation of origin, or it is flawed from the start and not worth reading.

We live in a racist society in which people who are not white male Americans are throwing dice with numbers missing.
