There are many types of narratives.

The narrative which was “the narrative” was the one which put 45 into office.

It is difficult to assess whether the majority bought it — they may have, but HRC won the popular vote.

We won’t know without some good surveys who bought the 45 narrative, and who sold it to them. We know the Russians sold part of it to them.
